CHAPTER 1: Introductory provisions, this chapter includes a single article explaining the words and terms found in the file.
CHAPTER 2: Registration and licensing of motor vehicles, this chapter includes 15 articles about registering all types of vehicles and issuing licenses and their specific conditions.
CHAPTER 3: Safety, this chapter includes 5 articles about the vehicle parts, safety and durability conditions, as well as the accessories and additional parts on the vehicle.
CHAPTER 4: Driving licenses, this chapter includes 11 articles about the types of driving licenses, license holders, the conditions for granting the license, as well as the conditions for carrying the license and presenting it when needed, and the conditions related to driving training licenses for the trainer.
CHAPTER 5: Rules and ethics of driving, this chapter includes 9 articles about traffic signs and marks, and maximum and minimum speed limits.
CHAPTER 6: General and final provisions, this chapter includes 8 articles about the operation of the vehicle by someone other than the owner and without a driver’s license, writing or drawing anything on the vehicle parts without permission, vehicle reservation conditions.
CHAPTER 7: Measures and punishments, this chapter includes 7 articles about the penalties resulting from all the articles mentioned in the traffic law, whether imprisonment or a financial fine.

Punishments in Oman Traffic Rules

Article 50	Driving a motor vehicle on the road recklessly or at speed or under the influence of alcohol. To commit or allow an action which violates local traditions and behavior. To use the motor vehicle for purposes other than those specified in the registration license. To drive a motor vehicle whose license or number plates were withdrawn	Imprisonment for a period not exceeding 3 months, one year and/or a penalty not exceeding R.O.500
Article 51	Breach of the provisions of Articles 16 (Para 2), 17, 18 and 19 of this law. Breach of the rules and ethics of traffic.	Imprisonment for a period not exceeding 30 days, or a fine not exceeding 150 OMR, or both.
